Guest Post: Letizia Ortiz, Principessa delle Asturie - Letizia, Princess of Asturias

Letizia, Sua Altezza Reale la Principessa delle Asturie, è nata il 15 settembre 1972 a Oviedo, nelle Asturie.
Letizia Ortiz è figlia di Jesus Alvarez, giornalista, e Paloma Rocasolano Rodriguez, infermiera e sindacalista.

Nel 1999 i suoi genitori divorziarono e suo padre si risposa con  la giornalista Ana Togorez.
Letizia ha due sorelle più piccole: Telma ed Erika, morta nel febbraio 2007.
Letizia ha iniziato a studiare a "La Gesta School” di Oviedo, dopo il trasferimento a Madrid con la sua famiglia, frequenta la scuola" Ramiro Maetzu ".
Completa i suoi studi con una laurea in Scienze dell'Informazione presso l'Università Complutense di Madrid e un Master in Giornalismo Audiovisivo.
Durante gli studi, Letizia ha lavorato per il quotidiano “La Nueva España ", il quotidiano " ABC " e l'agenzia di stampa " EFE ". 

Dopo la laurea e il Master si reca in Messico dove trova lavoro presso il quotidiano "Siglo XXI". Tornata in Spagna lavora per l'edizione spagnola del canale economico "Bloomberg", e poi per la rete “CNN +”.
Nel 2000 Letizia passa alla rete "TVE". Ha iniziato a lavorare per il canale "24 Horas" e alla conduzione di "Informe Semanal" e" Telediario Matinale ".

Nel 2000 fu inviata a Washington per monitorare le elezioni, nel settembre 2001 a Ground Zero dopo gli attentati alle Torri Gemelle di New York e nel 2003 e in Iraq dopo la guerra. 

 
Nel 1998 in una cerimonia civile, Letizia sposa il profesore di Liceo Perez Alfonso Guerrero. Si separano nel 1999.
Nel mese di ottobre 2002, Letizia incontra Felipe, Principe delle Asturie, ad una cena organizzata da Pedro Erquicia, collega di Letizia. Un anno dopo il loro incontro, il
1 ° novembre 2003 la Casa Reale spagnola da l'annuncio del fidanzamento tra Felipe, Principe delle Asturie e Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano.
Il 22 maggio 2004 nella Cattedrale della Almudena di Madrid si celebrano le nozze tra il principe Felipe e Letizia.
La coppia ha due figlie, l'Infanta Leonor, nata il 31 ottobre 2005 e la Infanta Sofia nata il 29 aprile 2007.
Dopo il matrimonio Felipe e Letizia hanno fatto viaggi in tutta la Spagna e all'estero per far conoscere meglio il loro paese.
Letizia nel 2007 ha iniziato a partecipare a vari eventi da sola, interessandosi alle attività che riguardano il sociale, la salute, la cultura e la gioventù.

In October 2002, Letizia met Felipe, Prince of Asturias, at a dinner organized by Pedro Erquicia, a colleague of Letizia. One year after their meeting, the
1 November 2003, the Spanish Royal House made the announcement of the engagement between Felipe, Prince of Asturias and Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano.
On 22 May 2004 in the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid are celebrated the wedding between Prince Felipe and Letizia.
The couple has two daughters, the Infanta Leonor born 31 October 2005 and the Infanta Sofia  born April 29, 2007.
After the wedding Felipe and Letizia have taken trips throughout Spain and abroad to know better their country.
Letizia In 2007 began to participate in various events alone, taking an interest in activities that relate to the social, health, culture and youth.
